This week I want to reflect on community compassion. This is the key to a better community. This our groups weekly goal also. We want to find ways to get involved in the community.

Another Direction

My group met a homeless man name Dawn who told them his story. Not the typical story but his life story. His a homeless vet. We decided that after their experience that we should focus our project on him. We aren't sure how we want to do this but we really do want to focus on people like him. People who were once "people". His story is inspiring and we can't wait to sharer it!

This week hasn't been as productive as we wanted. The good news is we know who we are interviewing! I'm super excited because it's a woman that I look up to and love. My Aunt Desiree. I call her Aunty Des. She is the founder and president of the nonprofit iamyou360. Their focus is to empower the community by helping educate and create awareness about self esteem and hygiene care based on ethnicity. This week our goal is to write or interview questions and either set up an appointment or do the interview with her. Though our project is a little behind schedule we're all pretty excited to serve our community and reach out!
